The Swinerton Foundation’s Park Service Program partners with local, state, and national parks, and non-profit organizations, to preserve and protect land and natural resources. Through the program, Swinerton volunteers support restoration and clean-up initiatives to ensure parks remain a place all community members can enjoy.
The Kennesaw Mountain Trail Club works closely with the National Park Service to assist park staff by providing critically needed volunteer power to build new trails and maintain over 20 miles of existing trails. One of Georgia’s most beloved outdoor destinations, over two million people visited the 2,965-acre national Civil War battleground last year.
This summer, the Swinerton Southeast team provided some of that volunteer power digging new paths along the trail to redirect the flow of rainwater and prevent flooding. Far from being a glamorous volunteer day, the work required a lot of muscle and produced a lot of sweat, but the chance to get outside with fellow teammates made the work worthwhile.
