Swinerton Seattle completed the first phase of the Spokane Tribe Economic Project (STEP) earlier this year, celebrating with a grand opening ceremony attended by the project team. STEP consists of a mixed-use development on 145 acres of Spokane Tribal trust land on the West Plains of Spokane County. The project will create a powerful economic engine for the region, bringing much-needed jobs for tribal members and non-tribal members.
Phase 1 included the construction of a 500-slot machine casino with 10–12 table games, multiple bars and restaurants, and surface parking. The project began in November 2016 and completed within the 14-month schedule.
