Welcome to Construction Safety Week

Welcome to Construction Safety Week, where the industry comes together annually to focus on the prevention of falls in construction. Thank you for joining us for this important week, albeit delayed this year. As we have all seen, COVID-19 has had a significant impact on many aspects of our business; but, it has also highlighted the most critical element of our work – the health, safety, and well-being of our employees, partners, and the communities we serve.  Our motto Make Safety A Habit – Your Family Needs You (YFNY) speaks volumes.

These challenging new times are perfect examples of how Swinerton leads the industry in health and safety. Utilizing our internal Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and leaning on the talents and skill of our highly credentialed, professional safety department, Swinerton has been able to quickly adapt to the ever-changing and evolving guidelines and recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other local and state health officials to provide invaluable support and guidance to our project teams, subcontractor partners, and clients alike.

Our mission to provide high-quality expert guidance and support to our teams continues this week as we focus on preventing falls in our industry.  Swinerton is proud to participate, yet again, in OSHA’s National Safety Stand Down to Prevent Falls in Construction. Falls continue to be the leading killer of construction workers in our industry today.  By holding stand downs on all of our projects and focusing our toolbox topics to talk directly to our workers about falls and how to prevent them, we can help make an impact on the lives of the people who go to work every day on Swinerton sites.  Our commitment to you is that we will continue to work hard to ensure our safety program remains best-in-class nationwide and that we help to raise the bar for overall safety performance in the industry.  Join me this week as we focus on fall prevention and the fundamentals that ensure that everyone goes home safely each and every day.

As always, stay healthy and safe, and remember – Your Family Needs You!
