Supporting Inclusive Travel at San José Mineta International Airport

Swinerton is supporting a new initiative at San José Mineta International Airport (SJC) focused on creating a more inclusive travel experience for families. In partnership with Nutanix and the Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose, SJC has announced plans for The Nest by Nutanix, a sensory-friendly room designed for travelers with autism and other sensory sensitivities.

Once complete, the space will offer a calm, welcoming environment within the terminal, helping reduce the stress that can come with air travel.
Swinerton is part of the team helping bring this vision to life, collaborating with project partners to deliver a specialized environment within an active airport setting.
“Bringing this sensory room to life is a truly meaningful project for our team,” said Swinerton’s Senior Project Manager Hannah Eyster-Young. “In partnership with Corgan, Swinerton is proud to collaborate with San José Mineta International Airport, Nutanix, and Children’s Discovery Museum of San Jose to provide a space that prioritizes accessibility, comfort, and inclusion for all travelers.”
