Swinerton provided general contracting services for the two-story building addition at Carolina Charter Academy, a kindergarten to grade seven school. The addition included 16 classrooms, restrooms, administrative offices, and a multipurpose space to accommodate the addition of eighth grade to the school system. Under a separate contract, Swinerton also constructed a full-size middle school gymnasium with basketball and volleyball courts and bleachers for 150 people. Outdoor space consists of a full-size soccer field and rerouting of existing carpool lanes for increased capacity.

The project team’s early coordination efforts with the designer and client allowed the project team to deliver the project two weeks ahead of schedule and $300,000 under budget.
