Swinerton served as general contractor for Charlotte Firehouse #30, one of the nation’s first all-electric fire stations. This innovative, two-story, three-bay facility was delivered as part of Charlotte’s Strategic Energy Action Plan, setting a new benchmark for sustainable municipal infrastructure. The 14,000-square-foot firehouse features modern amenities, a dedicated decontamination area, and an energy-efficient geothermal loop system. The project is targeting LEED® Gold certification and supports the city’s transition to a carbon-neutral municipal footprint.
