Swinerton provided general contracting services for the construction of JDA Northside & 17th, a six-story, 895-unit self-storage facility. The building’s climate-controlled SS20 hybrid steel frame was constructed of CMU and steel and has an EIFS and metal panel veneer. The building’s façade features a mix of stucco and metal for an upbeat appearance. The fully-sprinklered facility has an office on the main floor, an elevator, loading dock, two stairways, and several ADA accessible storage units on each level. The building also has an exceptional AV system, including state-of-the-art security and sound, which was installed throughout the building.

This project team operated on an accelerated schedule, delivering the facility in just nine months. Due to the team’s scheduling efforts, the tenant, Extra Space, could begin operations much sooner than anticipated.
