Swinerton provided general contracting services for the construction of a cast-in-place concrete, 14-story, Courtyard by Marriott hotel with one subterranean level in the Historic Gaslamp Quarter of Downtown San Diego. The scope of work included 90 guestrooms, fitness room, home theater, media areas, below-grade parking, roof deck bar/restaurant and eco-roof. Swinerton was responsible for the design-build services of the structural concrete, elevators and MEP/FS systems and was part of the project since the schematic/concept phase of the design. Design services provided during preconstruction include constructability reviews, value engineering, permit processing, cost estimating, and scheduling.
