Swinerton Builders Expands Team & Renovates Office Space in the East Quarter
Swinerton, a national commercial construction and construction management services company founded in 1888, has expanded its team and leased new office space within the historic 2200 Main owned by Todd Interests, in the bustling East Quarter. Scott Hage with JLL represented Swinerton, while Ben Davis with CBRE represented Todd Interests when inking the lease, which includes occupying the entire third floor of the five-story building. Swinerton has been in Dallas since 2019, and leadership is excited to invest in the growth of the East Quarter. Swinerton partnered with IA Interior Architects to design its new 11,0000-square-foot office space.
Swinerton was attracted to 2200 Main for several reasons. Located north of the Farmers Market and west of Deep Ellum, the historic 65,565-square-foot brick building was built in 1930 and boasts a rich history mirroring Swinerton’s own. Founder Charles Lindgren was a brick mason, and built numerous brick and heavy timber building. The overall aesthetic of the East Quarter building is unique and features exposed brick, wood trusses, and existing timber columns. Additionally, the renovated space provides numerous employee amenities, including a membership to a neighboring gym, a private cocktail lounge, an exclusive rooftop deck, and on-site parking.
Swinerton Vice President and Dallas Division Manager Tyler Whittaker, says “We are excited to make our new home in the East Quarter. As a firm, we are growing, and 2200 Main will help us attract the best new talent and retain our current high-performing team members as we continue serving the Dallas community”.
Named Engineering News-Record (ENR) Texas & Louisiana’s 2021 Contractor of the Year, Swinerton’s priority is on thoughtfully growing its Dallas presence.
IA Interior Architects designed the third-floor office, emphasizing an engaging and flexible environment. The space features warm, natural finishes and a variety of seating options in a unique multipurpose gathering area. Serving dual purposes, the office design functions as an event space for industry organizations. Comfortable booths and a folding glass wall opens the conference room featuring two large screens and arrangeable furniture help achieve this goal.
Currently, Swinerton is in preconstruction on multiple high-rise, office, and residential projects, which will continue to fuel its growth into 2024 and beyond. The firm recently completed a unique multi-restaurant and bar entertainment complex known as The HUB in Allen, Texas, that features a courtyard surrounded by seven restaurants. Flexible space can be utilized as a live music venue, walk-in movie theater, or backyard sports bar.
