SWINERTON HAS NEW HEAD OF AUSTIN OFFICE CONSTRUCTION FIRM WANTS TO HANDLE MORE AVIATION PROJECTS IN REGION

Alison Satt is now vice president and division manager at Swinerton’s Austin offices.

A construction company that dates to the 1800s has named a new vice president and division manager for its Austin office.

Alison Satt will fill the role at Swinerton Inc., according to a June 21 announcement. Satt previously held the positions of project manager and project executive with the California-based company, which was founded in 1888.

“I am excited and honored to expand my role at Swinerton and want to thank our leadership team, my peers and our dedicated team for this incredible opportunity to serve as division manager of the Austin office,” Satt stated.

The company has about 50 employees in its Austin office, which opened in 2013.

Swinerton ranked No. 18 on Austin Business Journal’s 2021 list of commercial builders, with 2020 billings of $116 million. At the time, Bret Hall was the company’s top Austin executive.

The company was also named Texas & Louisiana 2021 Contractor of the Year by Engineering News-Record.

Its online portfolio shows working in sectors such as affordable housing, aviation, education, healthcare, hospitality, office, industrial, residential and more.

One of Satt’s primary responsibilities will be to “expand Swinerton’s aviation leadership in the area,” according to the announcement.

“I will continue to support our aviation teams as our success has been found on a range of projects — projects ranging from less than a million dollars to the large terminal, concourse, hangar and parking facilities for aviation clients,” Satt stated.

One of its ongoing aviation projects is the Southwest Airlines Provisional Center at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Satt said. That project will help “support Southwest Airlines’ amplified service at ABIA.”

Satt, a Purdue University graduate with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, joined Swinerton in 2016. In her previous roles, she worked primarily on core and shell office, affordable housing and multifamily residential projects, according to the announcement.

Since 2015, Swinerton Austin has handled nearly 3 million square feet of projects, Satt said. One such project was the Creative Media Center and Stage 7 on the Austin Studios campus, completed in 2019. Additionally, Swinerton is working on “confidential projects” along South Congress, in The Domain and in East Austin, Satt said.
