BRIAN MCFARLANE NAMED DIRECTOR OF HEALTHCARE FOR SWINERTON’S DALLAS DIVISION
Veteran healthcare leader brings more than 30 years of design, strategy and market leadership to support continued growth in Texas.
Dallas, TX (February 18, 2026) – Swinerton Builders (Swinerton), a national commercial general contractor and construction manager, announces the appointment of Brian McFarlane as director of healthcare for its Dallas division. McFarlane joined the firm in January 2026 and brings more than three decades of leadership in healthcare design, client strategy, and market development across Texas.
In this role, McFarlane will guide the strategic expansion of Swinerton’s healthcare portfolio throughout Texas and select key markets. He will oversee market growth initiatives, client engagement and pursuit strategies that strengthen the firm’s position as a trusted partner to provide solutions to health systems and institutional providers.

As Director of Healthcare, McFarlane will focus on:
- Strategic Market Expansion – Expanding Swinerton’s healthcare presence and deepening relationships with major health systems, design partners and institutional clients across Texas.
- Client-Centered Delivery – Advancing early engagement strategies that drive certainty in cost, schedule, operational readiness and long-term performance.
- Integrated Design Perspective – Leveraging his experience as a licensed architect to enhance collaboration between design and construction teams to improve project outcomes.
- Team Development – Strengthening internal healthcare expertise and mentoring emerging leaders throughout the division.
McFarlane began his career as an architectural intern and went on to become a licensed architect, grounding his leadership in a deep understanding of design intent, regulatory requirements and the operational demands of complex healthcare environments. He spent 28 years at HKS in senior leadership roles, including Principal and Senior Vice President, helping guide major healthcare initiatives nationwide. Most recently, he served as Vice President and Director of Client Development at Rogers-O’Brien Construction, shaping regional healthcare strategy and supporting high-profile pursuits across North Texas.
By combining executive-level experience in architecture, construction and client leadership, McFarlane brings a uniquely integrated perspective to healthcare delivery—aligning design vision, operational functionality and construction execution to support long-term provider success.
