La Fénix at 1950 (formerly known as 1950 Mission Street) is a mixed-use housing complex offering 157 residential units to low to moderate income families and seniors, including those formerly homeless, to the Mission District community of San Francisco. It is the first affordable housing development in the Mission in 10 years. The project consists of two buildings comprised of nine and five floors, connected by an internal courtyard and an open-air bridge at levels two through five, across the street from the 16th Street/Mission BART Station. Among the amenities and on-site services planned at 1950 Mission are a childcare and youth programming center, community/retail space, six artist studios, non-profit service provider space, bike workshop, large courtyard, and rooftop garden.
