Previously known as the Ohana West Waikiki, the project consists of a full renovation of both 18-story towers of the hotel. All 623 guestrooms will receive an interior demolition followed by a build back with new. All public areas are also being renovated, including the porte cochere; lobby and lobby bar; front desk; restrooms; entryways; corridors on all levels; other common areas; pool deck; fitness center; and back of house. New MEP systems, chillers and transformers will be installed; new elevators will be installed; and extensive site work and exterior improvements will be performed. Upon completion, the hotel will be rebranded as the Hilton Garden Inn Waikiki. The project is taking place in a highly congested area with heavy vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The heavily constrained site is also bordered on all sides by existing buildings or roadways.
