SWINERTON ELEVATES LEADERSHIP ROSTER WITH STRATEGIC APPOINTMENTS

Firm veterans Lia Tatevosian will spearhead operations in Southern California & Hawaii operations, while Daniel Camin will take the helm of the Orange County/Los Angeles Special Projects division.

Swinerton Builders announces the promotions of Lia Tatevosian as Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of Swinerton Builders’ Southern California and Hawaii operations and the promotion of Daniel Camin as Vice President and Orange County and Los Angeles (OCLA) Special Projects Division Manager.

Lia Tatevosian will lead the firm’s Southern California and Hawaii operations as Senior Vice President and Regional Manager. She brings three decades of industry experience, including 27 years with Swinerton, to her new role. Starting as a Project Engineer, Tatevosian has held various positions within the company. In 2019, she became Vice President and Division Manager of the OCLA Special Projects Division. During her tenure, she has overseen $1 billion in projects, including indelible achievements such as the LAX Gateway, the UCLA Broad Art Center, and NASA’s first LEED® Gold building—the Jet Propulsion Laboratory Flight Projects Center.

Tatevosian earned her Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, Davis. Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in initiatives to promote equity and inclusion in the construction industry. She is one of the founding members of Women in Construction Operations (WiOPS) in Southern California. She has also served on the Los Angeles Architecture + Design Museum Board and The Swinerton Foundation Board of Directors. As the executive sponsor of Swinerton’s new PRIDE Business Resource Group, she continues to advocate for diversity and inclusivity within the company.

“Lia’s wealth of experience, unwavering determination, and commitment to diversity are game-changing assets in her latest role,” states Ray Haj, Chief Operations Officer. “Beyond building timeless structures, she is reshaping the construction industry by championing inclusivity and equity. I am excited about the region’s future and the positive impact Lia will make on the organization.”

Daniel Camin will succeed Lia Tatevosian as Vice President and OCLA Special Project Division Manager. He brings 16 years of experience in the construction industry—almost all of which has been with Swinerton —and a portfolio of diverse projects throughout Southern California. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Planning and Development and his Master of Science in Construction Management from the University of Southern California, joining Swinerton in 2008 as an Intern Project Engineer.

He has progressed through several roles; most recently, Camin served as Operations Manager in the OCLA Special Projects Division, where he was responsible for overseeing all aspects of the division’s project operations.

“Daniel brings a true partnership and client-centric mindset to every interaction with his team and our clients,” says Tatevosian. “With the division poised for continued success, his strong understanding of the local market and his experience with the division’s range of work equip him to lead this high-performing and growing group.”

Swinerton is confident in the dynamic leadership of Tatevosian and Camin as they steer the company toward continued success and innovation.
