The new 18-story residential high-rise will be fully dedicated to affordable housing units. Located in San Francisco’s South of Market (SoMa) District near the corner of Fifth & Howard Streets, the 180-foot tower will feature 203 apartments along with ground-floor retail space. Private residential balconies will be located on east-facing units, as well as those on the ninth floor facing Howard Street. The tower will also include a lobby and elevators on the ground floor; amenity space on the second floor; a shared landscaped terrace on the third floor; laundry facilities on the second, seventh, and eleventh floors; secure surface parking; and secure bike parking. The tower will utilize a Type IA concrete frame with concrete shear walls and deep foundations. The project is aiming to meet GreenPoint Rated (GPR) standards, which serves as a green building designation for residential projects in California. The project will also meet the San Francisco Mayor’s Office of Housing & Community Development requirements, which includes a 20% subcontract amount for Small/Local Businesses
