Swinerton provided preconstruction and general contracting services for the tenant improvement of Emmaus Church. The scope of work included a two-story dramatic interior renovation of the 100-year old historic church. The project brought the space up to code with new mechanical, electrical, and plumbing infrastructure, featuring new light fixtures, new restrooms, and new heat and cooling units.

The church features a unique blend of the old and new in keeping the stained glass arch windows throughout the sanctuary well as introducing new storefront windows throughout. The dated carpet was removed and the original wood flooring was refinished. The project team also raised the ceiling to expose the original wood ceilings and expanded the interior sanctuary walls for increased capacity. There is also new ADA entrances on both floors and wider door openings throughout for improved accessibility.
